The Strategy Project Analyst will design and implement project portfolio reporting and analytics. This position will work cross-functionally spanning departments including, but not limited to, Business Teams, Commercial Finance, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement, Finance, Strategy, IT and HR. This position will conduct detailed portfolio analysis, prepare reports, create and maintain data and analytics solutions, and generate business metrics and insights. This position will support collaboration and communication across the organization to support decision-making, and enable change and sustained improvements through enterprise reporting, queries, metrics, dashboards and analytics.
Day-to-Day Role:
* Collaborate with project managers, project sponsors, and across the PMOs to gather requirements, design and develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other analytics as defined by the needs of the business
* Interface with appropriate internal and external groups to gather required information to timely analyze business information
* Translate business questions into data analysis objectives and be able to present findings
* Analyze internal and external strategic issues and opportunities, and develop and present conclusions
* Assist with analysis and metrics of strategic initiatives, focusing on value realization and business outcomes
* Perform analysis related to costs, benefits, and return on investment for strategic initiatives
* Create resource forecasts and compile project valuation data to support portfolio management decisions
* Support project financial reporting, project budgeting, reconciling invoice data, and creating process and support documentation as needed
* Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
* Support portfolio management process improvements for templates, reporting, analysis, metrics, and capabilities used to rank/assess projects in the portfolio
* Support lean and agile PMO and development processes that balance rigor and effectiveness to drive results
* Participate in ad-hoc capacity and/or financial analyses to respond to questions from business leaders
* Support the company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
* Bachelor's Degree required; an emphasis in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field preferred
* Three (3) years of experience in a relevant field dealing with large data sets, conducting complex business analyses and presenting findings/conclusions in a compelling manner
* Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions, and judgment
* Excel skills to include pivot tables, modeling, developing complex spreadsheets, algorithms, analysis tools, and presenting quantitative analysis
* Strong collaboration, facilitation, and relationship management skills
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to work effectively in a cross functional environment
* Ability to recognize sensitive information and maintain confidentiality as required
* Quick learner with an ability to absorb and comprehend large amounts of data/information
* Results oriented individual with a bias for action
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of SAP Business Intelligence (BI)/Business Warehouse (BW)
* Experience with Microsoft Power BI
* Demonstrated business acumen and experience in manufacturing and/or consumer packaged goods industries
* Experience with operational excellence, lean processes, continuous improvement
* Experience with data modeling, data extraction, data mapping
