As a Senior Roadway Engineer we will count on you to:
HDR is looking for a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in Michigan. The primary duty of the Senior Highway Engineer is to serve in a design leadership role and as a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects. You will work as a member of a highway/roadway design team for large to moderate sized projects, and work independently as required to meet the needs of our clients. Project Management, task leadership, and quality assurance/control checks and technical review experience are pluses.
The duties of this position include preparing detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects. Project involvement will range from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase. Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans. Coordination of survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a requirement.
You will assist in preparation of proposals, scopes, budgets and schedules, and also including day to day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
BSCE is required
Michigan PE or ability to obtain
10 years of experience in roadway design; this should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation, InRoads, GEOPAK, LDD or other CAD design software
MS Office knowledge
Excellent communication and organizational skills
