Job Summary
Resource MRI Tech opening, to fill in for those who are out and be added support for shifts with higher patient volumes.
Provides health care services, applying pulsed radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Essential Functions
Verifies patient's clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
Prepares patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices and associated equipment to achieve desired results. Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
Prepares/administers contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assures proper identification is evident.
Maintains a clean work environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department unit personnel.
Assignments are routine; follows established protocols. Works under close supervision, seeks guidance where needed; requires some instruction on day-to-day work and resolves routine problems.
Qualifications
Required Associate's Degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT/ARDMS Credential required upon hire Or
CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) - ARRT/ARDMS MRI credential required within 2 Yrs of hire date for MRI Tech Level 1, Or
CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) - ARRT/ARDMS MRI credential required upon hire, for MRI Tech Level 2
CRT - BLS certification is required within 60 days of hire date
