At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Infrastructure Systems Engineer you will be trusted to work on designing, supporting and maintaining our UcaaS conference room and events environment. In this role, a typical day will include:
Engineer UCaaS systems such as Teams, Zoom, Skype, WebEx, etc. for the enterprise involving a variety of room systems, cameras, microphones, screens, headsets, phones, tablets, and other conference room and personal systems. Design, deploy, maintain, and support system to Enterprise. Update or replace outdated systems when necessary.
Maintain analytics of Digital Services product's usage and consumption via reports from multiple sources and tabulated using MS Excel, Access, and Power BI, including Zoom, expenditures, account status, POs, etc.
Perform complex systems design and development that includes computer and network architecture analysis and design, site design and construction, digital systems engineering, logic design, cost analysis, systems simulation, and analysis.
Participate in design, programming, and upgrading of operating systems and system enhancements. Develop and conduct tests to systems for systems and user requirements. Identify, analyze, and resolve system problems based on industry and company standards.
Provide, create, and update documentation on new or existing systems that include equipment lists, system drawings, and budgetary and system specifications. Provide training and technical guidance, leadership, to less experienced IT staff and end-users.
Monitor, renew, and deploy UC system's licenses.
Research new or alternative technologies, document findings, conduct pilots and evaluate multiple vendors, make recommendations, and develop business cases to justify the investment.
Work across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during deployment.
Deal with escalations. Make assessments, recommendations or provide solutions to resolve issues.
Mentor and train staff, ensuring they are up to speed on critical processes and technologies related to the organizations' goals and soft skills needed to succeed.
Provides technical expertise in the areas of system design, installation, configuration, tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
Participates in special projects as required.
Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Requires a Bachelors degree and 3+ years of related experience or in lieu of a degree minimum of 7 years' experience
Comprehensive knowledge of related software and hardware i.e., Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Poly, Crestron, Biamp, Shure, QSC, Logitech, Barco, Cisco, Aver, Vaddio, Planar, and Chief or extensive knowledge in AV hardware, software and system design and implementation.
Experience with both Windows OS server and workstations.
Understanding of network ports/firewalls.
