Job Summary:
Family Health Care is looking for a Medical Biller to join our team in Cadillac. This position must be able to accurately review and audit EHR claims sent by a provider and correctly bill and submit FHC medical claims. Additional responsibilities include accurate payment posting, follow up of claim denials and staying current with payer rules. Also issues timely refunds of patient and insurance over payments; contacts patients for payments and files with Carm as appropriate; files claims with clearing house. Performs all responsibilities according to best practices in the field and reflecting the mission and vision of Baldwin Family Health Care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in processing of insurance claims including, but not limited to, Medicaid, Commercial and other insurance payors
- Enter charges accurately and bill appropriate insurance carrier visits
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining balances in accounts receivable
- Complete understanding of current billing standards and computer billing processes
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One to two years’ experience in medical billing preferred
- Experience in money handling and data entry is desired
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail
