Facilities Maintenance Technician
Summary/Objective
The Facilities Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing various building maintenance duties and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions
- Perform a diversified set of duties to maintain the facility and some of the plant facility’s equipment
- Troubleshoot test and repair necessary plumbing activities
- Possess technical capacity skills, ethical conduct, have initiative, be results-driven.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled building maintenance
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Ensures grounds are free of trash and debris
- Responsible for various projects performing general maintenance, interior/exterior painting, plumbing, roofing, tiling, heating/cooling, and lawn care
- Maintains a safe and clean worksite.
Work Environment
- Indoor/outdoor work
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Elevated noise levels
- Outdoor work with exposure to poor weather conditions at times
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies.
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Walking around the facility with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter-mile in length
- Ability to climb ladders safely and without limitation
- Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred.
- Maintenance-related certifications are desired but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ facilities maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, heating/cooling, water, and building construction.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Experience with a Scissor Lift, Boom and Hi-Lo is required with the ability to pass/obtain the required operating license
- Be mechanically inclined, able to work as a team or individually with minimal supervision, and be able to communicate effectively

Schedule:
- 10-hour shifts Monday – Thursday
- Fridays are reserved for OT when necessary
- 1st Shift 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
- 2nd shift 4:15 pm – 2:45 am
