Area Leader
The Area Leader is responsible for directing the activities of team members and resources to ensure the required work is applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards. Additionally, this position is also responsible to support the key business metrics, general housekeeping, and workplace safety.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Ensure a work environment exists for employees that provide effective communication between all shift team members in order to effectively communicate concerns regarding the production
- Set the daily direction relative to manufacturing goals in order to meet production needs and expectations.
- Identify and communicate information to correct Factory discipline relative to product quality and defect prevention, product disposition, and rework and/or repair activity, trigger corrective actions when necessary
- Identify resource needs, as well as ensure that the production schedule is met
- Ensuring proper carryover of production activities and requirements between shifts. Direct the PTM’s to ensure that day-to-day production needs are met
- Participate with yearly review process for team members in your area
- Review and authorize timesheets at the end of the week
- Run service orders for the week
- Record attendance on a calendar
- Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities with the team
- Commits to plant safety procedures
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Communicate and assist in the resolution of part shortages or the expedition of product
- Evaluate, monitor, and report the personnel allocation in the plant including the use of overtime in conjunction with production needs to the Plant Manager
- Monitor and prioritize aging material orders
- Work with the Plant Manager to load all processes and shifts
- Supervise team members for your designated work area
- Assist with providing input to capacity planning as customer's production demands fluctuates
- Determine and communicate the direction relative to housekeeping and safety practices
- Provide appropriate resources/training to support expected job performance
Qualifications:
- Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Employee must possess good written and oral communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
- Employee must work safely at all times and maintain the confidentiality of all customer and company information
- Must have computer experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn MRP/ERP systems.

Work Environment:
Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. In this position, you are standing/walking the majority of your day in a manufacturing setting.

Schedule:
- 10-hour shifts Monday – Thursday
- Fridays are reserved for OT when necessary
- 2nd shift 4:30 pm – 3:00 am
