What you can expect in this position:
Under the direction of VP- Blood Production and Distribution, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of hospital order taking, processing, and fulfillment across Versiti of blood products. Ensures compliance with regulatory and operational requirements and that customer satisfaction, operational/cost-effectiveness, and quality are achieved.
What you will do:
Hospital Service Operations
* Ensures the quality of services and products delivered to Versiti customers maintaining contacts as necessary and solving problems should they arise.
* Collaborate with Inventory Management, Hospital Relations and Logistics Management to minimize product outdates and maximize product shipments while maintaining customer satisfaction and safe and adequate inventory levels.
* Ensures work systems and processes are effective to meet customer needs and efficient to maximize staff productivity and cost
* Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and hospital services operations.
* Measures performance related to service, quality, order fulfillment and cost. Prepares statistical and narrative reports on distribution activity for Versiti markets.
* Ensures adequate staffing and fulfillment of products to meet patient needs on a 24/7 basis including all holidays
* Responsible for coaching, mentoring and supporting continuing education of staff to optimize performance of activities assigned to the Hospital Services Team.
Quality
* Implements, maintains and communicates tools for monitoring strategies (e.g. visual management, safety, quality measures, products)
* Dedicated to providing the highest quality products and services which meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers
* Monitors systems/processes for compliance with regulations and SOPs; facilitates root cause analysis, works with staff to ensure deviations/errors are appropriately identified, investigated, and documented, with corrective and preventive action taken to include subsequent monitoring for effectiveness
* Ensures that all applicable records are maintained in a complete, easily retrievable manner
* Ensures validations, SOPs, training and communication are completed before implementation of operational change; monitors performance and takes appropriate action.
Financial Management
* Preparation of the Hospital Service budget that ensure cost-effective operations for Versiti
* Proactively monitors budget and takes action to ensure monthly spending stays within budget including the cost-effective use of resources.
GENERAL DUTIES
* Works collaboratively with peers and corporate departments (Quality, Supply Chain, HR, IS, and Equipment Management) to resolve issues in a changing environment
* Serves as spokesperson for management on hospital services matters and may represent the blood center with professional organizations or blood banking conferences.
* Participates in appropriate meetings and committees for the purpose of planning and problem solving

Service Area - Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio
Total Distribution Sites: 14
Total employees: 75-100
This position can be located in any of our operating states (WI, IL, IN, MI, or OH)
What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required.
Medical Technology Program, MT/MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in blood center, hospital, or laboratory.
Minimum of five (5) years' of leadership experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Ability to produce reports, documentation, and communications using employer provided resources.
* Ability to build teams across multiple territories while maintaining process control
* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
* Demonstrated knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
* Demonstrated leadership skills to include project management, team building, problem solving, and quality decision making
* Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in addressing procedural, vendor, customer, and staff problems * Ability to effectively work and manage through ambiguity and change, comfortably shifting gears and handling risk and uncertainty.
