At our site in Ann Arbor, we are currently looking for a(n) Operational Procurement Manager to join our growing team.
Job Responsibilities
This position is responsible to manage operational procurement for Wacker and provide leadership, guidance, accountability, training, process improvement, and compliance for the operational procurement team. This individual is expected to take a lead role in managing operational procurement escalations and is responsible for the protection of the Company's assets by procuring materials in an ethical manner that meets the Company's strategic goals and provides the greatest overall monetary value to the supply chains. This role facilitates the continuous improvement of the partnership between its internal customers and Wacker's Suppliers to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership.
Lead and facilitate the coordination with other WCC departments for timely procurement and delivery of key materials and services. Lead preparation for Procurement Monthly Reports, KPI's, forecasts, audits, supplier complaints/claims/evaluations, and other reporting as necessary.
Provide procurement coverage as needed by conducting RFx's, executing contracts, and creating/managing purchase orders.
Collaborate effectively with Procurement colleagues in Germany to help develop procurement practices which ensure all Wacker requirements and special terms and conditions are met.
Manage all personnel within the operational procurement team. Conduct performance reviews. Hold team members accountable to targets. Utilize mentorship and guidance to develop personnel within their roles and careers. Provide training as needed. Act as an escalation point for all operational procurement matters.
Provide leadership, guidance and direction to other departments with regard to supplier relations and meeting external customer's expectations. Coordinate, conduct, and participate in meetings and discussions between suppliers and/or related personnel concerning subjects including price, delivery, or quality negotiations.
Develop, implement, maintain, and report operational procurement KPI's to ensure the highest standards of procurement performance. Drive procurement efficiency improvements by streamlining processes, removing internal/external barriers, increasing procurement automation, and developing action plans to resolve recurring issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a related role.
Successful performance working in Procurement for a large global/multinational company, preferably within the Chemical and Manufacturing industries.
Prior leadership role in contract management, RFQ bid process, contract law and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
Good understanding of negotiation strategies, risk management, and value chain of various raw materials
Excellent and proven negotiation skills; ability to read, understand, and write legally binding contracts; excellent written and verbal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management- both internal and external to Wacker; excellent persuasive/presentation skills; work within a global matrix organization; strong analytical, financial and research capabilities; proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Office applications; and the ability learn additional IT analytical programs and to effectively react to change.
