Summary:
The Outpatient Services Site Leader is responsible for providing leadership and management for one assigned area of responsibility within Mary Free Bed. This leader will engage with physicians and other professionals/employees with the mission, vision and values of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. As a Site Leader, this leader has accountability for performance related to employee engagement, customer satisfaction, clinical quality metrics, growth of services, program development, and financial performance indicators.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the assigned area by engaging physicians, team members, and Mary Free Bed employees with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Mary Free Bed and demonstrate the Standards of Behavior
Directly responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation and training of clinical and non-clinical staff
Responsible for assuring all staff maintain proper licensure and certifications
Conduct systematic performance review of all clinical and support staff
Direct accountability for the supervision and direction of all clinical and support staff in assigned areas of responsibility
Communicate and facilitate rapport with staff that secures a highly engaged team who consistently achieves patient satisfaction score goals
Manage the delivery of patient care and day-to-day operations for one assigned area of responsibility
Assure appropriate staffing levels and supply inventory
Manage facilities and equipment maintenance and service requests
Work with marketing and business development to manage referral sources and grow the program
Assure appropriate standards of care are met for patients in area of assigned responsibility, in accordance with hospital goals, policies, and procedures
Assure clinical standards of care, monitoring and mentoring of staff, and compliance with accreditation agencies (MDPH, CARF)
Monitor, manage, and make recommendations on key performance indicators reported to Director of Outpatient Services specific to scheduling/patient access and monthly financial statements
Monitor monthly financial reports and provides input into the annual budget
Communicate regularly with Patient Financial Services to address denials, billing and collections issues
Responsible for charge capture for all billable services and supplies
Monitor clinical staff productivity and adjusts staffing levels to achieve goals/standards
Oversee timekeeping functions for direct reports, utilizing an editor when appropriate to approve time off and plans for coverage as needed
Understand and can effectively work with the electronic medical record system(s)
Work directly with MFB Information Technology department, EMR support, clinical and front office staff to improve communications and documentation efficiencies for all disciplines (physician, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and psychology services)
Responsible for compliance with all local, state and federal laws and guidelines
Responsible for compliance of HIPAA confidentiality, as well as compliance with records release and retention policies
Assure staff compliance with risk management, disaster preparedness and emergency planning policies
Perform facility safety reviews per Joint Commission guidelines and implements policies to achieve safety standards
Responsible for collection and analysis of data for quality improvement activities focused on patient and/or program outcomes
Promote an environment that stimulates continuous quality improvement initiatives, allowing staff members to contribute to the operational and strategic planning of MFB
