Are you looking for a part-time opportunity in communications with a flexible schedule? The Roush Human Resources department is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Communications Specialist to join our team. The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization by designing and implementing employee communications through digital newsletters, corporate intranet, employee townhalls and other communication channels. The role is also responsible for overseeing the production of recruitment videos, photos and content that would be used on social media platforms, job boards and career fairs. Some remote work allowed. This position is located in Livonia, MI
Responsibilities
Research, write and edit communications materials for a variety of channels and diverse audiences (digital newsletter, quarterly management meeting daily stories for corporate intranet, presentations for town halls, posters, manager communication toolkits, etc.).
Monitor the engagement activity on Roush's intranet to identify what topics employees are interested in. Identify and upload announcements, stories and images to the company intranet.
Identify and report key metrics to determine impact of communications and understanding of messages.
Design methodology and materials for senior leaders to present at employee townhalls. Includes take-away materials for employees and communications toolkit for managers.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to create and integrate hiring manager videos, photos and content into key recruitment channels to increase employment brand awareness.
Develop CEO quarterly videos in effort to provide employees an update on current business updates and future outlook.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in communications or other related concentration
Able to work 24 hours a week - flexible schedule
Strong understanding of the key pillars of communication: written, digital, graphic design and interpersonal/presentation
Communications Intern must have strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Exceptional skills in developing visuals for presentations
Graphic design experience and working knowledge of either Adobe Creative Suite (Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Canva
Strong program/project management skills including the ability to efficiently manage tasks, set realistic deadlines and identify resources required for execution
Experience copywriting including understanding how to collect information from multiple sources, consolidate for themes and to communicate engagingly with audiences of differing messaging needs
Communications Intern must have experience in communicating to diverse groups of employees
Skilled in digital communications with working knowledge of MailChimp and/or other communication platforms and ability to set, understand and translate related analytics/KPIs
