Eaton's Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Category Manager to join our team. This position will be based at our Galesburg, Michigan or Southfield, Michigan facility. No relocation is provided.
Position Overview:
The primary function of this role includes leading the development, management and oversight of common platforms of standard supply chain processes; and develop NA strategies through consensus building to implement cost effective improvements for Eaton Vehicle Aftermarket team. This function is accountable for developing strategic supplier alliances, ensuring supplier performance, the reduction of total supply chain costs and improving quality and service delivery throughout the supply chain system. In addition, this function develops long term commodity strategic planning, creates commodity metrics and ensures commodity strategies are aligned, deployed and meet the requirements of the Supply Chain Management function and Vehicle Group North America operations. This position is accountable for effectively implementing Eaton's strategic plan and managing measurable results.

In this function you will:
Establishes and leads supply chain teams in developing Aftermarket strategies to leverage Eaton's Vehicle Group world-wide buy, generate cost-outcome results, reduce supply base and improve quality and service performance.
Initiates, develops and executes regional strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies and increased leverage across a rationalized set of regional preferred supplier partners.
Negotiates and manages key strategic aftermarket supplier contracts including buy/sell agreements.
Reviews, approves, monitors and reports compliance to commodity agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions.
Initiates innovative business solutions, forecasts and commodity projections.
Presents to senior management new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
Support regional Aftermarket growth initiatives, working with cross-functional team to find unique solutions to accelerate growth.
Identifies and implements innovative solutions to business problems, independently and through high performance cross-functional teams.
Benchmarks procurement processes and develops and implements best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in commodity management OR minimum five (5) years of procurement/supply chain experience.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of the Galesburg, MI or Southfield, MI facility will be considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications:
MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years of commodity management experience within the aftermarket manufacturing environment
Subject matter expert in identifying and understanding current trends in supply chain management specific to services, direct and / or indirect materials.
Oracle ERP preferred

Must be a creative thinker who can deal with ambiguity to create a vision of how to drive the organization to achieve desired results.
Must have a demonstrated ability in the area of strategic process creation and implementation
Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation
Must be able to manage multiple tasks
Must be able to identify and implement emerging supply management tools.
Must have strong motivation skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Global business experience is required with experience in negotiating with global suppliers.
