Roush has an immediate need for a technical minded Project Manager to join our Advanced Engineering team who is looking to advance their career and and work on cutting edge projects. Roush Advanced Engineering provides technology, product and systems engineering and development services. If you are excited about working on projects from a variety of industries, this role provides you the opportunity to get involved from concept maturation and optimization to hardware integration and development. As a project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading projects for high profile customers with a focus on hardware design and development, mechatronics, calibration, controls and systems engineering. The Project Manager will direct customer communications and create project plan documents, statements of work, quotes, and project proposals. The Project Manager will also create and manage budgets, and project schedules. This would be a great position for someone with a technical background looking to change the trajectory of their career and step into a leadership role. This position is based out of Livonia, MI.
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Oversee and lead various projects and serve as the main point of contact for the customer
- Manage the project technical team by overseeing all major technical aspects of the project
- Oversee and be involved in major technical decisions for the project by contributing technical expertise
- Manage and lead conflict resolution with the internal team and customers
- Manage and control project budgets, schedules, and scopes as well as project change control
- Maintain and track all project open issues
- Create statements of work, quotes, and proposals for projects
- Create all required project planning documents
- Create new processes, procedures, and templates for improving project and team efficiency
Minimum qualifications to be considered:
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering field
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in hardware design and development, controls development, calibration, or systems development
- Engineering process understanding
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
- MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency
- Must be a US citizen or US lawful permanent resident allowing for ITAR compliance
A successful candidate may also have:
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics
- MS Project, SolidWorks, or other CAD (Computer Aided Design) software proficiency
- Familiar with PMI's PMBOK (Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge) and project management foundation
