DMC Harper University Hospital has distinguished itself in surgery and medicine and is known for its clinical expertise and innovative research. A specialty referral hospital, Harper has established Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, multidisciplinary cardiovascular services, hypertension, stroke prevention and heart failure.
Supervises facility engineering personnel in the repair, modification and preventative maintenance of hospital equipment and systems. Assists manager and director in overseeing personnel engaged in maintenance and repair of equipment. As directed, drafts policy provisions and formulation of management operating directives (MODs). Monitors and reports the quality and quantity of work flow to ensure work quality and completeness. Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Completes performance appraisals. Develops daily, monthly and/or yearly goals for function and, as requested, assists in assessment of goal attainment. Assists in developing and monitoring budget. Monitors activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, and DMC policies and procedures. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of staff and suppliers.
Qualifications
:
1. Associate's degree in engineering technology or four years experience in a licensed or certified trade, such as electrician, plumber or refrigeration operator.
2. Three years of experience in healthcare facility engineering, clinical engineering and/or associated services, including one year of related leadership experience in a responsible facility maintenance position with exposure to all aspects of the department.
