PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary duty of the Security Assistant Shift Manager is to oversee and manage employees assigned to his/her shift. This position ensures that operations are staffed efficiently, ensure that employees perform to established expectations, and promotes a safe environment for guests and employees; all duties are performed within company's policies and procedures, and applicable gaming and state laws.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage security officers, department operations, and support staff, to include interviewing, hiring, creating employee schedules, implementing approved procedures, training and evaluating officers, enforcing policy and administering discipline and coaching as needed; plan, develop and direct staff, work assignments and station coverage
Oversee guest and employee safety by promoting a safe and secure environment and implementing and enforcing state, local jurisdiction, regulatory, and company policies and procedures
Act as a liaison with the appropriate outside agencies during security incidents
Assist management with onsite investigations; coordinate and supervise onsite investigations as deemed necessary
Monitor and support security-related processing
Ensure guest questions and concerns are addressed immediately, either personally, or by contacting the appropriate department or member of management, to obtain the answer to the question, or obtain assistance in resolving the concern
Respond to guest and employee emergencies and reported threats, document incidents and ensure proper escalation for reporting and resolution purposes
Perform other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to maintain professionalism and master leadership abilities
Knowledge and understanding of resort, casino and/or hospitality investigation
Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both verbal and written forms
Extensive experience in verbal and written investigative reporting
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of direct security experience in a high-end resort/casino environment or law enforcement and/or military experience, with previous supervisory experience or in a team leader capacity
Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
Associates degree in management or related field
Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary language
Experience working in a similar resort setting
