We are seeking a Cost Analyst to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is performed on-site and is not remote.
The Cost Analyst is responsible for bill validation and approval of communications invoices. This position is part of overall cost assurance efforts that are critical to maintaining US Signal's profitability and financial health with regard to leased, lit services. Functions/Responsibilities:
Processing and approving of lit services, collocation, dark fiber, and other related invoices
Lead cost assurance efforts to confirm correct rate elements for regulated and contracted services
Submission of billing disputes related to billing errors, regulatory errors, and rate element back-billing
Assist with optimization projects to groom leased services onto the USS network as identified by Management
Cost assurance to confirm pricing and ordering policies are effective and profitable
Calculation of 3rd party early termination penalties
Produce month end reports to ensure all 3rd party circuits are accounted for accurately
Assist in monitoring and maintaining commitment levels, contracts and volume plans with vendors
Assist in monitoring and tracking buy-side MSA's, expirations, NDA's, etc
Assist in tracking internal circuits
Assist with revenue assurance efforts
Research negative margin circuits and assist in creating plan to rectify as identified by Management
Produce specific detailed reports as necessary
Special projects as assigned by Management

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Management is a plus. Experience:
Experience in telecom services is preferred. Candidate must have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, and must be comfortable in a fast paced, challenging environment. The desired candidate will have experience in Windows and Microsoft Office. Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position operates in a variety of environments. The majority of the time is spent in a professional office environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment.
