Summary of Position: | Need qualified instructor to teach INBI 303 Integrated Biology for the Department of Biological Sciences in Grand Rapids, MI. The course is comprised of one lecture and 2 laboratories and laboratories will be conducted both indoors and outdoors. This course explores living organisms found in Michigan through an ecological framework reflecting the Michigan Curriculum Framework. Each concept uses a model organism to illustrate one of the elementary life science standards and how to use these organisms to teach science in the elementary school classroom. Primary concepts include human ecology, ecosystem, function, classification and life cycles, evolution and adaptation to environments, human disease and nutrition, populations, naturalized species, and plant and animal pathogens. | |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Teach INBI 303 course in Grand Rapids. Drive to off-site locations for ecology labs. Offer office hours at times convenient for students. Provide effective, engaging teaching by way of good communication, sound pedagogical practice, assessment of learning, and adaptation of various levels of student preparation. Report directly to Department Chair. | |
