Summary
The Safety Manager position is responsible for managing safety, health and security processes and providing leadership for all matters related to employee safety and health.
REMOTE work from HOME or OFFICE - MUST live in: IL, IN, or MI
Essential Functions
Develops compliance programs and employee safety management systems for previously undefined programs/initiatives
Conducts hazard analysis, evaluation and develops solutions for issues and problems related to employee safety and regulatory compliance
Provides technical and managerial guidance through ongoing evaluations and investigations
Serves as primary interface with regulatory agencies on inspections, issues and employee complaints
Liaise with Environmental Services, coordinate and integrate overlapping processes
Regional liaison, benchmarking on regional level
Performs program/product development. Manager development and implementation
Performs training courses and facilitates industrial hygiene assessments

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required BA/BS Safety Science or Management
Master's degree preferred Safety Science or Management
Five - Seven (5-7) years or more 5-7 years of experience developing and managing employee safety & health programs required
Five- Seven (5-7) years or more Proven track record as a BU Safety Manager required
Other Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
