Position Summary
This person will assist the faculty with the day-to-day study project operations, which include assisting with study management leadership (e.g., the development of research study materials & IRB applications), coordinating and monitoring research activities (e.g., interactions with collaborators, and field data collection), maintaining and improving the study’s quality assurance procedures, providing human subjects protection oversight, ensuring study protocol compliance, tracking and reporting study progress, and assisting in the preparation of additional grant applications. Additionally, interested Research Assistant will also have the opportunity to contribute to the science, including data management and analysis, result interpretation, and manuscript preparations.
This position will be at the MSU campus in East Lansing and is available immediately
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in the specific field of research employment or other related science fields; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in standard laboratory procedures and safety requirements and performing analytical and research techniques in an area related to research being performed; may require software specific to the area of research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position may require special licensing or certification in the field related to the area of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Major or minor in epidemiology or equivalent experience in epidemiology or a related field.
Prior experience as a research project manager, and experience in research data collection and/or collaboration with large and interdisciplinary teams. Demonstrated interest and potential for scientific research. Experience working with university IRB and/or study budget management within a corporate or university-based administrative structure. Takes pride in the production of high-quality work. Quick learner and high sense of responsibility.
