Come join our team as a Nurse Educator!
In this role, you will be the sole Nurse Educator responsible for assisting outpatient clientele with education, primarily diabetic education, following physician referrals. You will also work to assign patients to the necessary dietetics resources helping to ensure their long term success.
Scheduled Hours: PT Rotating - This associate will work primarily 16 hours per week on the day shift. Hours may vary depending on necessary meetings. There may be the possibility of additional hours per week as well.
What You Will Do
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.
Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Identify and/or develop teaching tools and instructional materials.
Keep records of educational activities and prepares reports.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Educator specializing in Childbirth preferred.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Additional Preferences
Nurses with prior Med Surg or critical care experience are preferred.
Nurses with prior diabetic education experience are preferred.
Hospital experience is preferred.
