Aspirus is currently seeking a RESPIRATORY
THERAPIST to work at Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River,
Michigan. Duties include:
§ Provides respiratory
and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical
direction to patients in a variety of care environments.
§ Assists in orientation
training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease
and care.
§ Provides respiratory
care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult
and geriatric patients. Interprets
patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of
patients under care.
§ Whenever applicable,
demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of
their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and
intellectual/language development.
PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
§
Knowledge of respiratory care standards and
protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of
Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.
A Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care or Biological Sciences and one
year of critical care experience and experience in pulmonary function or
cardiopulmonary lab beneficial.
§
An active Michigan license to practice
respiratory care necessary.
§
Neo-natal Resuscitation Program certification at
time of hire or obtained within 6 months of employment.
§
BLS, Pals and ACLS preferred
§
Certified as a registered Respiratory Therapist
(RRT)
Hours: This position is occasional / as needed.

Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Clinics is
one of four hospitals in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Aspirus family.
With 300+ employees, Aspirus Iron River Hospital and
Clinics serves people through a 25-bed hospital, physician clinics,
dialysis center, rehab fitness centers, ambulance service, and home care and
hospice. The outpatient part of this practice is located in a stand-alone
clinic. This allows the provider to work independently yet have the specialist
support and financial security from the entire Aspirus health care
system. The critical access hospital has an average daily census of 9-10
patients.
The hospital and clinics provide numerous services
and has up to date technology, including a 64 slice CT and a mobile MRI. The
medical staff includes family practitioners, internal medicine, general
surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologist, emergency medicine physicians,
Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Visiting medical staff
includes ophthalmologist, oncologist, cardiologist, ENT, podiatrist, and
nephrologist.
