What You Will Do
Conduct interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions.
Provide admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.
Respond to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
Admit patients to the hospital and register outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility.
Document calls and related admission information.
Review all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies.
May staff a crisis hotline.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
One or more of the following required:
Master Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Additional Preferences
Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required.
LMSW preferred but also will consider LLMSW, LLP and LPC with appropriate experience.
Good understanding of level of care criteria and knowledge of area resources and insurance companies.
At least one year in acute social work setting.
