Our organization is seeking a skilled fabricator with a highly-trained eye for quality to join our operations department. In this position, you’ll be exposed to some of the most high-tech welding and fabricating tools in use in the industry. You will learn new and more advanced methods for custom metal fabrication, stainless commercial kitchen equipment and you’ll be able to help support our company’s vision of delivering products of the highest quality to our customers. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time. Pushard Welding is a non-union shop.
Job Responsibilities
- Check measurements and dimensions of each piece that’s being worked on with rulers, measuring tapes or squares
- Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment by using a hammer, pry bar, jack, wedge, or another tool
- Mark spots to cut and use tools to manipulate steel, plastic, or other materials by cutting, hammering, bending, or grinding the workpiece
- Review blueprints, drawings, and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion
- Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears Plasma and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind, debur and adjust materials
- Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or a GED equivalent
- At least two years of experience (or education) in fabrication
- Ability to comprehend blueprints and work specifications
- Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds or more
Preferred:
- Welding certificate completion
- Understanding of construction tasks and industrial processes
- Excellent fabrication vision and hand dexterity
