Diesel Shop Supervisor
Star Truck Rentals, Inc. is looking for a dependable, driven, and enthusiastic individual to oversee our shop in Jackson, MI location. As the Shop Supervisor, you are responsible for the oversight of the complete day to day operations of the branch. It is the responsibility of the Shop Supervisor to oversee the complete service, rental, and parts operations in addition to facility maintenance and shop equipment. This position supervises the technicians, rental, and parts staff to assure the location aligns business objectives and customer demands. Customer and employee relations are the largest and most critical responsibility of this position. As a service-oriented company, customer and employee satisfaction are the top priority and the direct responsibility of this Branch Manager.

Major Responsibilities:
- Manage preventative maintenance scheduling, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel
- Hire, train, and evaluate personnel
- Maintenance of the facility including cleaning and repairs as needed
- Assure that each direct report understands the company objectives
- Confer with company officials and sales staff to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business
- Direct and supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing specific services, such as pumping gasoline for customers
- Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties
- Plan and prepare work schedules, and assign associates to specific duties
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Employee selection, retention, and engagement: including pay recommendations, annual reviews, regular supervision, guidance, and positive reinforcement
- Review repair order billing, credit card, and cash re-cons, and vendor invoicing
- Respond to accident damage with the customer and insurance companies
- Ensure the adherence to company policy and procedure including but not limited to personnel policies, safety compliance, and credit policy
- Knowledge and ability to fill in for all employee absences
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of previous work experience in diesel shop maintenance required
- At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience required
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required
- Strong written/oral communication and people management skills required
- Proven track record of generating solutions
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with well-developed previous leadership skills in a leadership role.
