Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Digital Solutions Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Manager Data Analytics.
The primary responsibility of this role is to enable and ensure a consistent approach across the entire Research and Development Pillar through deep data insights, and agile simple processes and technology. You will lead multiple data efforts in a team across functional platforms, analytics, and machine learning.
Reporting to the Group Manager, the person in this role will support the Digital Solutions department's objective to Senior Manager Data Analytics.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide leadership to a team of program managers, senior data analysts, and a data architect responsible for building high impact data platforms and analytics solutions.
- The leader will also be responsible for a cross pillar advanced analytics team including a data scientist and machine learning engineer. This team will be responsible for addressing R&D concerns with data science models.
- Author data product strategy and approve product requirements documents.
- Own and drive complex technical data platforms and advanced analytics projects from planning stages through to execution.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders within Design, ITx, TC and more broadly across Toyota including TME and TMC.
- Lead Data Governance initiatives governance and the maturation of the data governance organization.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Candidate must have strong data analytics experience and be well versed in storytelling from data to drive actionable insights. Must be well versed in research and trend analysis
- Experience working with Tableau, Snowflake, or similar cloud-based tools
- People management experience and experience developing and leading strategic team initiatives
- Data Storytelling – Simplicity is Key: Ability to simplify and persuasively communicate complex data to non-experts and cross-functional business stakeholders in a way that fosters action
- Clarity in the Ambiguous: There is no pre-existing playbook for this team or function within the Company. Must be comfortable not having all the answers to decide and create new ways of working with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly Collaborative: ability to work across variety of internal functions and external partners including but not limited to procurement, marketing, IT, analytics, and legal
