Position Summary
The Simulation Operations Manager (Operations Manager) reports to the Director of the MSU Learning and Assessment Center and assumes overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of Simulation Center operations. The Simulations Operations Manager works with a high level of independence, acts with initiative, and thinks creatively to manage operations which support curriculum and development of healthcare professionals.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a healthcare profession, educational technology, higher education administration, business or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and customizing learning activities; supervisory/management project management experience; operations management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field (i.e., Nursing, Paramedic). Higher Education Administration or Educational Technology. Master’s degree preferred. Supervisory experience. Experience working with diverse populations of learners and/or customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide exceptional customer service. Exemplary computer application skills such as Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and/or Learning Space. Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Working knowledge related to programming and operation of healthcare simulation equipment such as human patient simulators, partial task trainers, virtual reality, etc. Working knowledge related to Standardized Patient methodology and programmatic operations Evidence of scholarly engagement and/or project management. Knowledge related to educational theory, principles, and methods of adult education. Marketing experience.
