Position Summary
This position provides support to the Early Clinical Experience component of the Shared Discovery Curriculum in the College of Human Medicine; provides information and assistance to students and faculty fellows and advises them of potential solutions to problems and courses of action; manage communication and scheduling with clinical partners; assign and monitor student clinic schedules; assists faculty and students in understanding time lines and expectations related to curriculum; processing/preparation of curricular materials, uploading materials to the web; creates and maintains computer resources for the curriculum; collects and interprets information in order to produce reports and provide information for administrators, faculty, staff, and others; assists in planning for physical facilities, equipment, courses and other services needed regarding the delivery of the curriculum; submits grades and maintains appropriate paperwork files; proctors exams; assists other curriculum teams as needed; follows University and department policies and procedures in order to address and resolve questions and problems; may require occasional travel to the East Lansing campus. The position is located in Grand Rapids, MI.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience; word processing, database, and spreadsheet software; editing and composing documents/correspondence; office procedures including maintenance of databases; scheduling meetings and conferences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Office 365 software; must be a self-starter with good decision-making skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously; attention to detail; ability to professionally articulate verbal and written communications; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize work and tasks effectively and efficiently; ability to establish and maintain collegial, effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students; experience providing excellent customer service; ability and desire to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
