The Technical Specialist serves as a team lead in the lab, monitoring staff in data entry; and collects, processes and analyzes blood, body fluids, tissues and excrements. Analyzes, validates and reports laboratory data/results in compliance with hospital, state and federal regulations and standards. Ensures appropriate allocation of staff resources, based on workload. Assists Manager with payroll, budget, interviewing, performance, evaluations and training of Laboratory colleagues.

What you will do:
Performs appropriate laboratory testing; operates appropriate equipment and support machines.
Performs appropriate special laboratory testing and complex instrument and / or process trouble shooting.
Develops and maintains technical procedures for laboratory processes and workflows.
Maintains high quality laboratory processes.
Evaluates new products and procedures; and makes recommendations on adoption
What you will need:
Education
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree and one year of clinical internship.
Minimum: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT) certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or equivalent.
Preferred: Three years of hospital lab experience.
