The incumbent provides advanced BIM expertise by supervising BIM staff and leading coordination efforts to produce accurate shop, hanger/trimble, and penetration drawings to be utilized in HVAC and plumbing-related projects.
Creates spool/fabrication drawings, and compiles them into user-friendly format for field use.
Interprets blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
Manages quality control of shop/fabrication drawings and other deliverables on assigned projects.
Leverages existing CAD knowledge to help guide the work of CAD operators on a given project.
Acts as a point of contact for escalating or resolving project-related questions for all parties.
Assigns personnel to specific projects based on skill level.
Communicates issues/needs associated with the LMPS database to the Database/Applications Manager.
Resolves IT and programming issues on an as needed basis.
Serves as the primary point of contact for project managers and superintendents.
Develops "best practice" installation methods, and shares them with internal peers.
Collaborates with other key stakeholders to resolve planning issues related to job-specific needs.
Prioritizes and encourages safety while executing work tasks, especially when at a construction site.
Oversees and directs the work of supervised staff, and provides HR-related input to management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, plotters, and printers.
Work tasks may occasionally be performed at local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to outside weather and conditions typically associated with a construction site.
TRAVEL:
This position regularly requires local travel to attend meetings and conduct site visits.
Out-of-town travel may occasionally be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
5+ years of CAD experience.
Familiarity with applicable plumbing and mechanical building codes and safety laws.
Advanced-level knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, and Navisworks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
Capacity to effectively work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, as business needs dictate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Trade school completion or Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
Knowledge of Autodesk fabrication products.
