The EDM System Engineering & Integration Manager has the responsibilities including but not limited to specifying, designing, developing the electric motors/EDM systems of Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) vehicle applications.
The EDM System Engineering & Integration Manager will lead his team to work with FCA DRE's and with FCA suppliers (through Development Phases (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Product intent) and with FCA cross-functional teams (Chief Engineers, architecture, purchasing, platform managers, program managers, and quality engineers) to ensure the performance and durability of the electric motors/EDM systems till the successful launch.
Responsibilities of the EDM System Engineering & Integration Manager will include:
Responsibility for Engineering best practice (EBP) design rules electric motors/EDM systems
Ensuring new electric motors/EDM systems are critiqued considering EBP and lessons learned are captured for future systems
Defining the architecture and integration of the electric motors/EDM systems to meet functional, performance and durability requirements
Managing the technical specialists to develop best systems now and to further develop their technical expertise for application to FCA products
Developing and growing the necessary skills, expertise, tools, process and design rules within the organization to develop best in class electric motors/EDM systems
Leading, concluding and presenting trade-off studies between different electric motors/EDM systems
Leading system failure analysis activities and ensure corrective actions are verified
Managing electric motors/EDM systems design scheduling and overall project management responsibility
Be a key contributor for system DFMEA activities
Work closely with component owners and validation in developing component and system designs and DVP's
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 8 years of product development experience in the automotive industry
Minimum 2 years in hybrid and/or electrified powertrain system development; this could include product design release, controls and calibration development
Knowledge of systems engineering principles, DFMEA and DVP&R development and execution
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, self-starter, and strong independent leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from accredited university
Experienced in designing, validating, and manufacturing of Electric Drives for Automotive applications
