RATE OF PAY: $12.35 - $14.00 per hour depending on experience MINIMUM AGE: 18 years
HOURS: 15 -28 hours per week.
Available to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is in the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. The facility is open early morning to late evening seven days a week. An employee in this position is responsible for coordinating meetings, receptions, birthday parties, field trips, and other special events. The employee will serve as a salesperson for the department and will be responsible for negotiating room rentals at the facility. An employee in this position is responsible for executing meetings, receptions, birthday parties, field trips, and other special events from start to finish. The banquet associate needs to be engaged on the floor and be hands on consistently providing personalized and quality service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
- Supervises activities and special events as required.
- Serves as a liaison between the various departments within facility (custodial, service desk, gym/fitness area, seniors, theater, and administration).
- Actively promotes and sells all aspects of the facility (i.e. room rentals, special activities).
- Resolves problems and/or complaints from customers, participants, and fellow employees.
- Follows established guidelines, policies, and procedures and reports problems as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and training as required.
- Performs administrative duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
