Job Description
Using tools of consulting, mentoring, coaching and interprofessional collaboration, the nurse educator facilitates the professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel along the continuum from novice to expert.
Functions in the roles of change agent, mentor, facilitator of learning, leader, champion of scientific inquiry (application of research, evidence based practice and improvement science), and partner for clinical practice transitions.
Nurse educators are REQUIRED to obtain their nursing administration or professional/specialty certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Require
Master's Degree in Nursing Education or Adult Education Preferred
5 years of relevant clinical experience related to area of focus Required
Experience in education and program development Preferred
MI RN license Required
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
