This is a 4-year apprenticeship for purpose of developing the skills of a qualified journeyman tool and die maker. This includes the use of best practices for shop safety, machine shop equipment and tools, shop mathematics, metallurgy, reading and understanding technical drawings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with manager and toolmakers as mentors to develop tool making skills
- Record and maintain work experience log showing equipment used and type of work performed
- Attend classroom instruction courses per the Apprenticeship Standards
Perform work on various industrial tooling including but not limited to:
- Dies (Progressive and Transfer)
- Jigs and Fixtures
- Gages and measuring tools
Plant Equipment Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Eagerness and ability to learn
- High School Diploma or GED
- Machine shop experience preferred but not required
