Description
Under the supervision of either the Director or Manager Facilities Maintenance, performs emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance specific to electrical equipment and systems and such diverse areas as electrical, plumbing, HVAC&R, boiler operations, and mechanical. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action on systems and equipment unique to a health care facility. Must have strong knowledge and experience in two or more described areas
RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, maintains, modifies and repairs all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment. May design or assist in the design process.
Performs all work in compliance with current National Electric Code.
Inspects and tests components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
Completes work orders, records material utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
Runs computer cables, connects computer jacks and plugs, and tests for adequate operation.
Utilizes blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
Surveys electrical systems, circuits and plans.
May train and/or oversee the work of apprentices or journeymen.
May perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
High School Graduate or equivalent and all approved electrical courses.
Master Electrician License
Minimum of 4 years previous experience in electrical work plus experience in two or more of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC&R or carpentry
Must provide license as "License of Record" to the State of Michigan for MNM operations
Must possess valid State of Michigan Vehicle Operator's license
Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles
PREFERRED
- Previous experience in health care industry
