This full-time 12 month position will provide comprehensive school social work services to parents, students and school staff. The School Social Worker will address barriers that limit a student from receiving the full benefit from their educational experience; respond to referrals from school administration, parents, teachers and others by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors of Social Work (Master’s degree preferred); State of Michigan Social Work License; must have a current valid Michigan driver’s license and either possess certification or have the ability to successfully obtain a chauffeur’s license; as well as a licensed, insured vehicle for use on the job. Successful experience working with students exhibiting challenging behavior; experience working with Native American youth preferred; working knowledge of the principles, practices and ethical standards of School social work; the relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations and applicable school policies; knowledge of community resources and support systems available to assist students and their families.
WAGE: N9 ($17.65-$26.74) dependent upon qualifications and experience.
