Duties/Responsibilities:
Tecniq is an engineer-owned industry-leading lighting solutions company with a strong commitment to excellence and innovation. Our engineers are expected to collaborate with other engineering team members to develop state-of-the-art products that meet or exceed requirements. Our electrical engineering team’s primary objective is to conceptualize and design a multitude of PCB assemblies, ranging from simple to complex in scope, while maximizing performance/efficiency and minimizing costs. We work in a fast-paced dynamic environment that is always changing to adapt to our customer and business needs. Expect to be an immediate contributor and part of a highly motivated cross-functional team environment.
Required Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:
At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of mixed signal electronic circuits
Experience successfully designing for prevention/mitigation of EMI/EMC
Experience using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS/DxDesigner or equivalent PCB design software
Experience successfully addressing thermal challenges, especially with component selection
Experience working in a laboratory environment using spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience developing control circuits for LED lighting is desired
Experience designing switched-mode constant current power supplies.
Experience performing electrical simulations/analysis during the design phase
Experience programming/debugging using C++/C#, JAVA, Visual Studio
Experience selecting and interfacing with microcontrollers
Experience designing UL rated electrical/electronic circuits
Proficiency in SMT component selection
Proficiency in deriving electrical/PCB requirements from system level design objectives/requirements is preferred
Embraces continuous learning and open to mentoring less experienced members of the engineering team
Education Requirements:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering required (advanced degree a plus). Three or more years of relevant work experience required.
