A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN HR GENERALIST
As an HR Generalist, you are at the heart of our employee workforce. You will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities as you perform a wide variety of human resources functions including recruiting, benefits coordination, records management, compensation, training and development, and employee support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the recruitment and interview process: post jobs, review applications, conduct phone screens, organize and participate in interviews, check applicant references, and extend offers.
- Assist with developing training and onboarding programs; conduct new employee orientation.
- Coordinate enrollments, changes, and training for all employee benefits programs. Conduct education sessions for newly eligible employees.
- Process employee status changes.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and other employee personnel topics.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- Coordinate with members of management to create job descriptions for new positions
- Maintain personnel records in company's Employee Management System
- Monitor and coordinate with managers to ensure completion of employee performance evaluations
- Assist in the administration of the employee compensation program
- Assist with updating and maintaining the employee handbook and other human resources forms and processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR HR GENERALIST
- Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or related field OR Associates degree in related field with minimum 2 years human resources experience
- Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
- Human resources certification preferred (PHR or SHRM-CP)
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Ability to understand, interpret, develop, and communicate company policies and procedures
- Strong customer service skills.
WORK SCHEDULE AS AN HR GENERALIST
The typical schedule for this full-time position is Monday - Friday with weekends free!
