GDIT is looking for a Senior Developer to support our Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) customer. This is a Tier-3 IT-Support role on an Agile delivery team providing mission critical support to our customer.
This is a remote based role; strong preference for candidates located in the DMV.( DC/MD/VA).

In this role, a typical day will include:
Identify application performance bottlenecks and facilitate root cause analysis of system issues to minimize impact and future occurrence.
Create solutions and conduct performance tests to improve availability, performance, reliability, capacity and scalability in the application, system or database layers.
Analyze performance requirements, translate into detailed performance test plans and create test scripts.
Assist in the design and the development teams in establishing standard SLAs and ensures the applications meet the defined SLAs.
Analyze test results with engineers, product managers, other stakeholders and coordinates with the respective teams for performance tuning, memory leaks and bug fixes.
Understand system's technical architecture, and able to identify the performance implications for different layers of system based on design discussions or architecture documents.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Strong background working in Agile environments with Agile methodologies.
Ability to resolve web, application and database bottlenecks such as JVM and connection pool issues.
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply.
Ability to lead as well as work with peers in driving a solution.
Experience in developing Web Applications involving both front end (Java) and back end database components such as Oracle.
Hands-on knowledge in web-based environment utilizing enterprise Java, Spring Framework and Web Technologies.
5+ years of experience as a Developer for large-scale enterprise applications; Tyler Technologies Entellitrak (ETK) preferred.
Experience with MS Office suite of product
Experience with ServiceNow
Experience in Application performance monitoring tools and other tools such as JMETER, Selenium and large PDF handling processes.
Understanding of J2EE Architecture (Apache/Tomcat).
Understanding of process automation (Jenkins)
Proficient with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Glowroot or SolarWinds knowledge
Proficient with Java, JavaScript, HTML
Proficient with JIRA
Proficient with SQL and SQLScript
MUST be able to obtain a Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in java application code refactoring and working with SOAP architecture is desired.
Tyler Technologies Entellitrak (ETK) preferred.
Experience with Oracle DB.
