We are looking for individuals who have a passion for cleaning and cooking. The ideal candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule depending on business needs, including holidays and weekends. They must enjoy assisting others and work well in a team environment. Dishwasher/Kitchen Stewards will work in both the restaurant and banquet kitchens, as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up dish area according to Health Department and Townsend Hotel Specifications.
- Ensures kitchen and dish station follow state and federal health compliance laws.
- Empties and cleans dish machine and dish area. Leaves area clean, dry and sanitized with all plate ware, glass ware, and equipment restocked to appropriate areas.
- Maintain and monitor the kitchen, service alley, and the employee break room for cleanliness and adhering to proper sanitation standards. Trash emptied tables and chairs cleaned, napkin holders filled, plates, cups, utensils, condiments stocked.
- Restock any necessary materials required to maintain compliance.
- Eliminate all waste materials through the correct avenue.
- Consult with Chefs for food preparation and cleaning duties that are to be completed during shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Previous dishwashing/stewarding experience preferred in a high volume, fast paced restaurant or banquet facility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires ability to lift 20-50 pounds frequently; up to 100 pounds infrequently
- Requires full mobility for entire duration of shift
- Standing, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, lifting, for majority of shift
- Requires ability to use service elevators and or stairs to move food, equipment, carts, trash from one area to another.
- Varying environmentally controlled temperatures from kitchen area and coolers.
