Work closely with process metallurgists and production control to ensure accuracy and timelieness of creation of PPAP's for customer orders.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Primary responsibilities include: create and update p-codes, assist in reviewing customer orders for metallurgical accuracy, customer requirements, special test, correct aplication of grades, etc. Respond to questions regarding grades and order entry from Metallurgy and Production Control.
This job reports directly to the Metallurgy and QA Manager.
This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a completed Lab Technician (Routers/Specifications) Qualification Checklist. Basic computer skills required.Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Create and update p-codes (based on quotes, customer and industry specifications).
Assist in reviewing customer orders for metallurgical accuracy, customer requirements, special test, correct application of grades, etc.
Distribute new, modified and conversion billet grades, maintain grades and grade books, accurate data entry and download of grades into plant wide operating systems.
Assist in maintaining customer specifications and industry standards.
Assist Metallurgy with updating orders as requested.
Assist with modifications to RP's, JA's, and OI's and monthly RP auditing.
Maintain housekeeping in the area.
Observe and follow all general and departmental safety rules and regulations.
Follow all Cardinal Safety Rules.
Responsible for completing all required annual safety and environmental training.
Know, understand, and follow all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and practices.
