This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience product line out of Troy, MI.
Summary:
The Software Resident Engineer role in Aptiv has the responsibility to solve and/or facilitate technical software issues resolution working close with our customer MATLAB Modeling team into customer facilities (if allowed), this position is a liaison between our AUTOSAR embedded software platform team and application layer Software Components team (customer).
The Software Resident Engineer is an experienced hands on automotive embedded software engineer with very good knowledge on AUTOSAR RTE configuration using Vector DaVinci Tools.
This person needs to have a very good overview of the entire system, from software architecture to the hardware dependencies. It is also desirable some experience in LabVIEW to support our customer during their internal validation cycles.
Responsibilities:
Primary Technical contact for AUTOSAR Application software interfaces and other related topics/issues/questions from customer and from our AUTOSAR embedded software platform or Application layer Vehicle Function team.
Assist our software team to reproduce issues in vehicle using provided trap code or test code.
Ability to quickly create test code to fix issues (proof of concept) and demonstrate fixes to customer technical team in their facilities (If allowed).
Code analysis, debug and test to provide quick answers to customer and other Aptiv stakeholders software technical questions.
Provide software inside information to our Systems engineers and Systems Resident engineers to facilitate complex issues reproduction and resolution on customer bench or vehicle test.
Support Software architect in the implementation of intended Software Architecture, monitor adherence, find and report not compliance architecture deviations, support Software Architect on application layer architecture issues resolution and negotiations with customer technical team.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelors' Degree - related to Embedded Software Development (Electrical, Software, Embedded, Mechatronics, computer science).
6+ years' experience in Automotive Embedded software development, including at least 2 years working on an AUTOSAR automotive project.
Body Control Module software development hands on experience.
AUTOSAR (i.e. Vector AUTOSAR) Building blocks configuration, RTE Configuration or Application SWC development.
Must be able to understand and communicate technical issues, root cause, effort estimations.
Solid and hands on experience in Automotive Embedded Software development: C language, embedded software test, problem solving, embedded software debugging techniques, Real time, configuration management tools, Oscilloscope, Software Architecture, Software Design, Logic Analyzer, Debuggers, read schematics.
Must be capable to really own her/his current project/s with passion and work with diligence to meet committed goals.
Must be well organized and able to provide quick technical answers in terms of her/his scope of responsibilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Masters Degree - related to Embedded Software Development (Electrical, Software, Embedded, Mechatronics, computer science).
8+ years' experience in Automotive Embedded software development, including at least 4 yearsworking on an AUTOSAR automotive project.
LabVIEW programing and test experience.
Automotive RF project software development experience (Key fob, RFHUB).
ECU development knowledge for Car Access and System products ( RKE , PEPS , Immobilizer).
Cybersecurity.
