Position description
The Quality Engineer I will be responsible for ensuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities. Interacts with multiple cross-functional departments, customers, suppliers, and experts outside of Saint-Gobain to implement Saint-Gobain quality objectives.
Formulates procedures, specifications and standards for Saint-Gobain products and processes. Understands how to investigate and determine root causes for nonconformances, taking that knowledge to develop and implement corrective/preventive action plans. Collects and analyzes data to ensure the quality system is in compliance with standards and regulations. Will have a basic understanding of ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820 regulations, quality systems, design assurance, FMEA, product testing methods. Previous experience in a clean room environment a plus.
Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree - Life Sciences or Engineering required.
Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a quality role. Can include coop/internship experience required.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, and product applications required.
The ability to work with a wide range of people required.
Strong in use of statistical techniques and Six SIgma/WCM tools.
Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships outside the department as well as outside the company (suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, etc) required.
Ability to deliver, meet deadlines, and be results oriented required.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written form to multiple levels of the company.
Basic knowledge and ability to apply QSR/ISO regulations to ensure compliance preferred.
Additional Requirements
Investigate nonconformance's, determine root cause and create corrective/preventive action plans.
Write technical protocols, reports, and procedures.
Work with customers/suppliers to ensure needs are met from a quality perspective.
Assist with manufacturing process improvements.
Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality.
