This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment out of Troy, MI.
Summary:
The Software Technical Leader role in Aptiv has the responsibility to solve technical cross-competency software issues within Engineering. This person is the main technical point of contact to our customer and other Aptiv internal competencies. The Software Technical Lead is a senior developer position on a project designated to have technical review & approval authority over other developers on the project team. Due to the nature of the role in small projects this person also owns the project architect and/or integrator role and/or Software Project Management role. This person needs to have a very good overview of the entire system, from software architecture to the hardware dependencies.
Responsibilities:
Primary Technical contact for software related topics/issues/questions from customer, other Aptiv internal competencies and up level management.
Technical lead and coordination of issues resolution into a distributed international team.
Code analysis, debug and test to provide quick answers to customer and other competencies software technical questions.
Technically evaluate, lead and coordinate internal and customer originated requirements changes impact analysis and efforts estimations.
On site Trap Code and Test Code creation for quick proof of concept issues fixes or new implementations to support customer and other competencies stakeholders.
Support the architect in the implementation of the architecture, monitor adherence, find and resolve architecture issues.
Facilitate complex issues reproduction and resolution on customer bench or vehicle test and debug (infrequent).
Monitoring that engineering execution is following standard work and best practices. The work products comply with applicable organization policies and procedures i.e. ASPICE.
Act as a mentor for less experienced software engineers, provide training and guidance on technical topics/issues.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelors' Degree - related to Embedded Software Development (Electrical, Software, Embedded, Mechatronics, computer science).
7+ years in total combined (could be different roles) experience in Automotive Embedded software development, including at least 2 years leading technically an automotive project.
Body Control Module and/or RF Modules (Key Fob, RFHUB) hands on experience.
AUTOSAR (i.e. Vector AUTOSAR) Building blocks configuration, RTE Configuration or Application SWC development.
Must be able to understand and communicate technical issues, root cause, effort estimations.
Solid and hands on experience in Automotive Embedded Software development: C language, embedded software test, unit test, Integration test, embedded software development lifecycle, Automotive, CAN, LIN, SPI, problem solving, embedded software debugging techniques, Real time, configuration management tools, Oscilloscope, Software Architecture, Software Design, Logic Analyzer, Debuggers, read schematics.
Must be capable to really own her/his current project/s with passion and work with diligence to meet committed goals.
Must be well organized and able to provide quick technical answers in terms of her/his scope of responsibilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's Degree - related to Embedded Software Development (Electrical, Software, Embedded, Mechatronics, computer science).
10+ years of experience.
Ethernet software stack integration, configuration and test.
Linux or similar OS hands on Software development.
good knowledge for Low Frequency / UHF ( Sub GHz) and project experience.
ECU development knowledge for Car Access and System products ( RKE , PEPS , Immobilizer).
Cybersecurity.
