Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the part-time engineer performs maintenance, operation, and repair of fixtures, basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. Also, will perform general labor, assist with set up and breakdowns, cleaning and other maintenance duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports the Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer in managing the daily operations of the physical plant, including maintenance needs, cleanliness, event coordination and daily activity.
Operates and maintains systems in an energy efficient manner by adjusting lighting and HVAC to optimal usage.
Records all work performed and maintains a log of all maintenance and repair activities.
Inspects venue and systems throughout the facility to detect malfunctions; investigate, diagnose, and implement corrective action.
Maintains organized storage areas in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
Changing of lamps, ballasts and fixtures throughout the Fox and Hockeytown Café.
Repair and maintain drywall fixtures, furniture and plumbing systems at the Fox and Hockeytown Café.
Assists in custodial work, set-up, and teardown of events whenever possible.
Performs snow removal tasks such as shovel sidewalks, entrance ways and loading/parking areas as needed.
Operates equipment such as floor buffers, wet vacuums, carpet extraction machines, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other light power-driven equipment.
Event-based operational duties to support public and private events (i.e. responding to custodial based radio calls, maintaining restrooms, between-event cleaning, trash management).
Assist with various department and organization projects and special assignments as needed.
Adheres to all applicable safety codes.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
2-3 years hands-on experience in facility maintenance/engineering.
Follow all safety precautions, building codes, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures.
Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Understand and work from general instruction and specifications and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
Ability to apply common sense and work independently while exercising critical thinking, judgement, and initiative.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
Must read, write, and fluently communicate with others in English.
Must be able to pass criminal background check.
Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag. Personal appearance and grooming must conform to OEI dress code.
Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry
Familiarity with blueprints/ floorplans /drawings.
Trade skills, licenses, and certifications are preferred.
Working Conditions:
Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
Exposure to moderate - high noise level
Ability to work in dimly lit conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent visual/auditory attention
Due to the nature of the entertainment industry, schedules may vary including early mornings, nights and weekends
