ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A health care/human services professional with at least two years of health-related experience, knowledge and ability to effectively administer the Hospice services.
Proven knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations required.
Required to be self-directed professional with ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Computer literate.
Experience working with terminally ill patients and their families.
Demonstrated ability to lead/supervise others and to work effectively with persons of varied backgrounds and educational experience.
Possesses current Michigan motor vehicle license, ability to drive a car, and insured vehicle capable of transport to patient homes or other offices in various weather conditions.
Meets Home Health and Medicare standards as evidenced by criminal background check and fingerprinting.
Meets MHH established requirements for proof of health status. Physically able to lift 35 pounds utilizing good body mechanics and lifting techniques.

Establishes the budget and organizational plan and monitors business operations to ensure financial stability and accomplishment of operational and strategic goals.
Insures organizational compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Evaluates Hospice services and personnel using measurable outcomes and objectives.
Uses appropriate conflict/complaint management to see resolution of patient or employee conflicts/complaints.
Promotes clinical staffs professional growth by insuring that Hospice personnel stay current with clinical information and practices.
Makes decisions regarding hiring, termination and corrective action with review by the Chief Clinical Officer and Human Resource Director, as necessary, while insuring adequate and appropriate staffing.
Works with management and staff of other home care programs to develop goals, implement a strategic plan, standardize operations, achieve quality goals, and assure operational efficiency.
Responsible for assuring staff development including orientation, in-services continuing education, competency testing and performance improvement.
Directs staff in performance of their duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation and provision of service to patients.
Responsible for overall maintenance of patient/family records according to governmental and Munson Healthcare requirements.
Represents program in the hospital and in the community, locally, regionally and state-wide.
Insures appropriate data collection and regular, complete reports are received by the governing body.
Insures that support services (including appropriate staff supervision; adequate space; equipment and supplies) are available to staff.
Insures that services provided by other agencies are authorized by Hospice.
Insures that appropriate service policies and procedures are developed and implemented to accomplish identified outcomes.
Insures that interdisciplinary care is provided and promoted by the structure and systems.
Insures collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services.
Monitors service utilization to insure delivery of comprehensive care.
Insures standards of ethical business and clinical practice are maintained.
Insures that hospice personnel stay current with local and national clinical practices, issues and trends.
Employees with e-mail are required to maintain proficiency in the basic functions of the program and are also required to regularly check email and keep calendars up to date.
All other duties as assigned.
