Unit Description: A 25 bed inpatient rehab unit specializing in improving the functional abilities of patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, tumors, multiple sclerosis, hip fractures, amputations, burns, cancer, cardiac and pulmonary disorders, and general medical and surgical debility. This unit will focus on the patients' physical recovery and rehabilitation needs and provide a seamless continuum of care in one location. The IPRC uses state of the art gait training and neuro-rehabilitation technology to provide comprehensive inpatient care for physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, psychology, rehabilitation nursing and social work. Team members on this unit will assist patients with activities of daily living, cognitive & language skills, and other daily functional tasks, as well as actively managing their medical needs.
Scheduled Hours: PRN Nights- This associate will work at least three 12 hour shifts per 6 week scheduling period. Night shift is 7:00PM through 7:30AM.
What You Will Do
Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Additional Preferences
Candidates with prior hospital experience are preferred.
