Jacobs is the world's top supplier of automotive test facilities , providing a full range of services to commercial automotive industry customers. Customers include not only the world's major vehicle providers and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), but also clients from the international motor sports community.
Our experience encompasses virtually every type of automotive test facility, including climatic and driveability wind tunnels; aerodynamic, acoustic, and thermodynamic wind tunnels; emissions test rooms; soak rooms; altitude chambers; engine and powertrain test cells; and electromagnetic anechoic chambers. We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities.

BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Most of the testing involves durability simulation of subsystems and components. Testing responsibilities include:
Mechanical preparation and instrumentation,
Test execution, data collection
Post-test removal of test equipment and various automotive components.
Work with test lab instrumentation including application and installation of transducers, accelerometers, load cells, potentiometers and other various types of electrical equipment.
Work with vehicle suspension components and sub systems.
Here's What You'll Need:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required
Must have good electrical and mechanical knowledge
Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills.
Desired:
Associates in Automotive Technology or a combination of 2 years' experience and college.
Previous experience in a testing environment desirable, including: hydraulic experience (closed loop systems a plus), hydraulic / pneumatic system controller experience, automotive systems / sub-system familiarization, MTS controller familiarization.
Welding experience (Mig, Tig, Arc) and Machine shop / fabrication experience preferred.

Overtime, regular days, off days: Monday - Friday regular time with occasional over time. May need to flex time to cover weekend testing.
Shift, 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Day shift. Must be open to working some afternoons and weekends as needed

Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary.
