Dana Incorporated is looking for a State Income & Franchise Tax Senior Analyst to join our efforts in driving change and process improvements within our team. We value hard work and collaboration to meet the goals of the organization. This individual will assist in assuring all state income tax compliance, accounting, and audit management objectives are met. The individual will be able to help drive process improvements within the group, especially the recently in-housed compliance process. This position reports to the Manager State and Local Income Tax.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare state income & franchise tax returns and supporting workpapers
Research, analyze, and document tax positions taken on state income and franchise tax returns
Prepare tax provision workpapers according to ASC 740 guidance in connection with quarterly and annual financial reporting responsibilities
Assist with state income & franchise tax audits
Monitor state tax law developments to determine impact to the company
Assist in the implementation of process improvement initiatives within the group
Assist with research and analysis of state tax impacts of mergers, acquisitions and other significant transactions
Support the organizations global efforts to benefit from tax credits & incentives
Collaboratively support all tax areas as needed
Manage the annual reports compliance process
Prepare monthly state income & franchise tax account reconciliations
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
3 years of state income tax experience within a large public accounting firm or large multi-national company
Understanding of complex state income tax issues associated with large multi-national company, including the recent impacts of the TCJA (GILTI, FDII, 163(j), etc.)
Eagerness to learn and understand how state income & franchise tax impacts other areas of the department and vis versa
Highly effective working knowledge of Excel, Word, and standard on-line research tools. Experience developing processes involving large amounts of data.
Team player with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems independently
Strong project management and organizational skills
Nice to have:
Masters degree and/or CPA preferred
Experience using Corptax for compliance and/or provision
