Are you passionate about science, the environment, and machine learning? Our team is looking for a Data Scientist to contribute to Hach's suite of predictive analytics products that enable our customers to protect human health!
We are an interdisciplinary team building and operating ground-breaking solutions that bring intelligence to the management of water. You will work with business leaders and domain experts to translate ambiguous business problems into testable research problems and collaborate with scientists and engineers to design, build, test, deploy, and monitor lean, scalable machine learning, statistical, and rule-based products that influence critical real-world decisions.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Prototype, test and build analytic systems that will be adapted for use in our current and future products
Design predictive models using large data sets from multiple sources to deliver actionable product or process insights
Develop machine learning models, including deep learning, not only for proof-of-concept purposes, but with operationalization in mind
Develop processes, techniques, and tools to analyze and monitor model performance while ensuring data accuracy
Build, expand and maintain intelligent tools, databases, dashboards, systems and methods
Lead data mining and collection procedures
Work closely with the engineering team to advise on system architecture, data availability and help guide engineering priorities

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related work experience OR Master's degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field
Proven experience within data science/analytics including leading knowledge of the latest AI, Machine learning, Big Data tools and methods, as applied in business contexts.
Experience having taken machine learning projects from development to successful deployment
Coding skills in Python, R, SQL
Solid knowledge of underlying statistics of various Data Science techniques
Experience in Engineering and R&D in formal or informal leadership roles
Ability to effectively summarize results from analysis to a diverse set of audiences with varying background and technical skills.
The salary range for this role is 90-140k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
