This is a multi-unit RN position, which involves staffing assignments on multiple units, per the labor agreement with UMPNC, Section H, page 55, Multi-Unit Positions.
Units for this position include CVC4 - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and University Hospital-5D, Surgical Intensive Care Unit). The home unit will be CVC4 - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit ; holidays and PTO will be determined from the home unit. The RN can be scheduled on both units, based on the unit's staffing needs and will be expected to staff on either unit, as needed.
The Cardiovascular ICU (CVC 4) is a 24-bed adult intensive care unit caring for patients who have recently undergone cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery. This unit specializes in coronary artery bypass, heart and lung transplantation, heart valve repair, ventricular assist devices and esophageal procedures as well as carotid re-vascularization and aneurysm repairs. Staff members collaborate with the Advanced Practice Team and are involved with patient/family conferences, patient care rounds, and referrals. Perform Charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Assist in research studies and quality assurance activities.
- Current Michigan RN License
- 2 years current ICU or ER experience

- BSN preferred
- VAD, cardiac or cardiac surgery experience
- 2 year Cardiovascular ICU nursing with experience caring for cardiac devices including impella, tandem, IABP and ECMO.
- Three (3) years ICU experience
- CCRN, CSC, CMC certifications
- ACLS

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
